Post-Secondary Institution Online Selection Forms

Students are required to fill out Post-Secondary Institution (PSI) selection forms online between January and June of their graduating year. In order to make sure that your application form is processed quickly it is important to have these PSI forms submitted before the BC Government's interim grade download in May. Your Personal Education Number (PEN) is required before you create an account and access any of the information. Please visit the web site and fill out the form when needed. If you need help with this process please read the Accessing the Electronic PSI Selections Form documentation.

Grads: Looking for a scholarship?

BC Awards Online is a newly created website designed to help graduating students gain access to the scholarships and bursaries available. Students can search the database of scholarships and filter the awards based on the school district. Check it out to find out more.

Grade 12 students completing secondary school may be eligible for scholarships and awards from the Ministry of Education. These monies can be used to assist in tuition for attendance at designated post-secondary institutions.

The Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC is please to announce its eighth annual, “Aboriginals into Medicine: Pre-admissions Workshop,” August 18-19,2010. It will take place at the Island Medical Program on the University of Victoria campus in Victoria, BC. Visit the web site for more information about this opportunity.

BC Technology Scholarship Fund

The British Columbia Technology Industry Association invites students of public, BC-based high-school and post secondary institutions who have a proven passion for technology or that are studying in a technology-related field, i.e. engineering, marketing, sales, management, and computer science to submit their application to the BC Technology Scholarship Fund.

University of Victoria Webinars: Bachelor of Commerce Program

These live, interactive information sessions are listed at the University of Victoria Commerce Program web site. Upcoming sessions are scheduled for the end of February and in April. These sessions will cover topics such as successful applications, about the BCom program and the application process.

Looking for some financial help to continue your studies? Be sure to apply for the BC Aboriginal Student Award. Awards of $1,000 - $3,500 will be awarded to Aboriginal students enrolled in full-time post-secondary studies at least nine weeks long. You could be one of them!

Apply before May 15th. Details are available at: http://www.bcscholarship.ca/web/aboriginal or talk to your Aboriginal education counselor or Financial Aid Office.

The Trevor Linden Community Spirit Scholarship rewards students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership abilities and exemplary contributions and commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. The Trevor Linden Community Spirit Scholarship recognizes 4 student leaders ($2500 per student) in the province of British Columbia attending their first year of post secondary education, in good academic standing that have made exceptional contributions to:

  • School and community service, leadership
  • Initiating community development
  • Affecting positive change
  • Mentoring others
  • Personal development and growth
  • Good academic performance

  The Irving K. Barber BC Scholarship Society

The Irving K. Barber British Columbia Scholarship Society supports post-secondary education by providing scholarships for students attending public post-secondary institutions. The Scholarship Society, in partnership with the Victoria Foundation, manages endowment funds and awards the return on investment to students through scholarship programs. They have three scholarship programs:

  • Aboriginal Awards
  • Ike Barber Transfer Scholarships
  • One World International Scholarships
   
  BCSTA Citizenship Award

The BC School Trustee Association (BCSTA) gives 5 awards of $500 each every year for its Student Citizenship Award. In order to submit your application you can mail or fax it to the BCSTA directly. The complete information for this scholarship can be found in the online application package.

Black Press Business Scholarship

Students that are interested in attending the Business Faculty at the University of Victoria (UVic) should seriously look at this scholarship. A $5,000 scholarship is available to the students in 37 BC communities. This scholarship is awarded to students based on the following things:

  • Application to the Bachelor of Commerce program
  • Achievement of academic excellence
  • A written personal essay about your life goals, your understanding of ethical behaviour, and your involvement in community or campus organizations
  • Reference letters and transcripts are also required.

The Canada Student Loans Program and the Canada Student Grants Program help by providing student financial assistance in the form of loans and grants to Canadians attending post-secondary education in most provinces and territories.
